Music Band
For us, Valencians, it is inconceivable a party without music and in our town, we have many good examples. The Mare de Deu Festival is one of the most important traditional dance and music corpus in our territory, but it is not only music from Dolçaina and Tabal which can be heard during these days, accompanying the image with its melodies and closing the Different processions we have in our almost Bicentennial Band of Music, which is intimately linked to the parties of Algemesí since its birth there in 1837, when we find the first documents that confirm that the Algemesinian musicians participated in the festivities.
But, as you know, the band's participation in the festivities is not limited to the processions, the concert of Nit del Retorn has become the last years in an event, the public looks forward to the surprises that The Band will offer us on one of the most exciting nights of the year

The Chorus

The Schola Cantorum in Algemesí accompanies the evening singing and Mass Day of Our Lady since 1971, when Diego Ramón Lluch began working in the parish of Santiago and started this coral movement. From that date, Schola accompanies the most solemn celebrations of the liturgical year in the Basilica of St. James of Algemesí and has become a reference in the Valencian choral world. Diego Ramón himself composed most of the pieces that are sung today in the song of Vespers, on September 7 in the afternoon, one of the most intimate moments of the party.
